A 2 million-year-old fossilized shark tooth found in Port Huron Michigan? Does this mean huge sharks used to?

swim in the great lakes? How could a 120-foot long shark with 4 inch long teeth thrive in a fresh water lake???

This is weird !

the earth is only around 6000 years old - anyone who tells you otherwise is pulling your chain! Go to Creation Evidence and you can see all the debates from scientists, paleontologist, archaeologists, etc... both Christian and Atheists - they all agree there is NO way to actually carbon date with any accuracy - and NO proof the earth is older than 6000 years.
Reply:I think North America used to be totally under water.
Reply:Parts of North America used to be underwater. Megalodon sharks roamed freely in these prehistoric oceans, feeding on early whales and other animals of the past.
Reply:As the link says they reckon that the tooth may have been dropped there by another human, either recently or a long time ago.
Reply:No - it means that at various times throughout earth%26#039;s history the sea level has been different, and parts of America have been underwater.
Reply:The article I read says it was a tooth from a Carcharodon megalodon (which lived in a marine environment) which only grew to be 60 feet long (not 120 ft)

The paleontologist consulted for the article didn%26#039;t think it was from a time when the great lakes were a shallow marine environment 300 to 400 million years ago (although there were sharks in the area at that time). He seemed to think it was probably dropped in the area by some person -- either in recent historical times or by earlier native people.

Reply:When the shark in question was swimming in the area it was on inland sea much larger than the great lakes.
